This past Saturday, November 8, marked the opening of the Winter Farmers Market at the Baltimore Woods Nature Center in Marcellus. The inaugural season began this weekend and will continue every second Saturday of the month, from 10 a.m. through 1 p.m., until April 2015. The market is a collaboration between Baltimore Woods and Farmshed CNY, and is held in the main room of the Baltimore Woods Interpretive Center.

At the Winter Farmers Market guests can enjoy local and artisanal food products from several regional producers like Groovy Granola, Simple Roast Coffee, Flour City Pasta, and more. The market also includes the Farmshed Harvest Food Hub, where visitors can purchase seasonal produce from farms throughout the region. The purpose of the market is to connect consumers with regional producers and support local farming.

Baltimore Woods hosts several events throughout the year, including its Local Harvest Dinner in February, to educate locals about agriculture practices and healthy eating.
