For many of us Syracuse students, fall is best time of the year. We’ve escaped the 90 degrees September weather and have just a couple months left to enjoy before the Syracuse tundra takes over our campus. Although nothing beats sweater weather, the best part of October? The food. Here are 8 different kinds of fall flavored drinks/ eats at your favorite local restaurants and cafes!:
Pumpkin Chai Donuts, Chocolate Pumpkin Tarts, and Chocolate Cannoli Cream Cakes @ Picasso’s!
Picasso’s is a little hidden treasure my roommates and I found my sophomore year of college. They have the absolute best pastries that are delicious and affordable. Their fall treats are even tastier than they look so take a quick walk down to Westcott and give it a try!
Pumpkin Bagels, French Toast Bagels, Pumpkin Cream Cheese, and Pumpkin Spice Coffee @ Brueggers Bagels!
Although our favorite bagel place on South Crouse Ave will be permanently closing (*sighs*), the Bruegger’s Bagels on Nottingham is still up and running! Every October they bring back the pumpkin spiced theme, and let me tell ya, these bagels are to die for. I recommend getting a toasted pumpkin bagel with half regular cream cheese and half pumpkin spice cream cheese, just to balance the sweetness. But if you’re anything like myself, that just won’t cut it. The pumpkin spice coffee is also the perfect balance of sweetness and great bold coffee flavors!
Apple Cider, Apple Fritters, Cinnamon Donuts, Fresh Picked Apples, Apple Bread, Candy and Caramel Apples @ Beak and Skiff Apple Orchards!
If you’re looking for a fall-fun packed day, Beak and Skiff Apple Orchard is the place to be! Their activities consists of apple picking, eating delicious fresh baked pasties, and they even have their own distillery for you 21 and over kids! The best part of coming to Beak and Skiff is their variety of fall-flavored treats. Everything from candy apples to apple fritters, Beak and Skiff has everything you’ve been craving this fall!
Apple Cider, Pumpkin Spice lattes, and Assorted Fall Treats @ Recess Coffee on Westcott!
It wasn’t until about two semesters ago when I discovered the quaint little café on Westcott, Recess! If you haven’t been before, I recommend you go sooner than later. Their coffee is absolutely amazing as well as their breakfast sandwiches and house- made pastries. Recess is on board with celebrating this fall by adding apple cider and pumpkin spice lattes to their seasonal menu. Looks like I’ll be going there a lot more frequently than I already do!
The Apple Tart, Apple Pie, and Pecan Pie @ Biscotti Café!
For all you upperclassmen that have access to your own car, I recommend taking the quick drive to Biscotti Café located on North Salina street! Year round they sell delicious pastries and every fall they bring back their seasonal delicacies, like their apple tart and pecan pie!
Pumpkin Whoopie Pies and Caramel Apple Danishes @ Modern Malt Bake Shop!
If you’re an SU student, you know of or have been to one of the best breakfast joints in town, Modern Malt. If the fruity pebble covered French toast isn’t enough of a sugar high for you, you’re in luck! Modern Malt owners have just opened a new bakery in Armory Square, Modern Malt Bake Shop!
Butterscotch Pecan Cookies @ Insomnia Cookie!
Our favorite and most loyal cookie delivery service just got even better with these warm butterscotch pecan cookies! So don’t miss out before it’s too late!
Tastemade’s Pumpkin Spice Snickerdoodle Ice Cream Sandwiches- DIY!

Just watch. No words can convince you enough that this is exactly what you need to make for you and your roomies this fall!
