As if one wasn’t enough, Byblos Mediterranean Café is planning to open a second location in Armory Square later this month. The new addition will be located at 316 South Clinton St., the former location of The Black Olive, and will be called Byblos Bar & Grill. Owner Fady Khabbaz hopes it will come to be known as “the kebab place.” The menu will remain Middle Eastern, inspired by the cooking of Khabbaz’s parents, Violette and Phillip.
There will be many ties between Khabbaz’s café and his new bar-grill, as some cooking for the new location will be done at the original café, but there are also different attributes that will make the bar-grill unique. The main components are the full bar and live entertainment. Byblos Bar & Grill will have a full bar with 12 different beers on tap as well as a full liquor bar. The bar and grill will also feature a grill from Cyprus that will be used to cook an assortment of kebabs, from lamb to veggies, shrimp, and scallops.
While the café will remain a daytime place, the new grill will stay open late for evening food and drinks. It will be open 4:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, and 4:30 p.m. until 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday.
