Tapingo: What’s New?

By Morgan Schare

As a college student, I have a true appreciation for so called, “normal food” (a.k.a. not dining hall food) and when it comes to eating real food, ordering in is the way to go. While GrubHub is great, Tapingo is a fairly new delivery app that is stepping up its game. Unlike most food delivery apps, Tapingo allows Syracuse students to order from both off-campus restaurants, like McDonalds and Peppinos, and on-campus locations, like Kimmel Food Court and Faculty.

Recently, Tapingo added 11 new restaurants to the app, including: Wings Over, Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, Wendy’s, Original Grain, Beer Belly Deli & Pub, appeThaizing, Dolce Vita World Bistro, Peppino’s Neapolitan, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Old Market Eatery, and Insomnia. With so many new restaurant options, Tapingo is becoming major competition for GrubHub.

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que

unnamed-1

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is a great family-friendly restaurant perfect for parents weekend. The food is delicious and the fact that Tapingo now delivers it is honestly life-changing. From wings to ribs to insanely good cornbread, Dinosaur has the best barbecue food in Syracuse.

Peppino’s Neapolitan

unnamed

Peppino’s is a New York style pizza restaurant serving the best of the best in Armory Square. Aside from pizza, Peppino’s has yummy pasta and to die for risotto balls. When you don’t feel like driving all the way to Armory Square, Tapingo’s got your back to satisfy your pizza craving.

Original Grain

unnamed-2

Original Grain is a trendy and vibrant California-style restaurant located in Armory Square serving fresh acai bowls, sushi burritos and avocado toast. When you visit Original Grain, you’re bound to leave with an aesthetically pleasing Instagram photo. Now with delivery through Tapingo, you can take a great Instagram right from your dorm room!

Wings Over

unnamed-3

Wings Over is a tasty restaurant located in Syracuse that specializes in, of course, wings. Wings make the perfect snack while watching a sports game on TV, celebrating a Syracuse basketball win, or simply fulfilling your late night cravings.

Bugatti

unnamed

Tapingo recently added the ability to order a Bugatti through its app. Yes, you read that correctly. There are two options on the app: Bugatti Veyron-King Size and Bugatti-Student Size. The king size is offered in an array of colors and costs $2,185,000. The car takes 2-3 weeks for delivery. The Bugatti-Student Size is a miniature car that comes with a Tapingo t-shirt and a pair of sunglasses for $46.00. This is definitely not your typical item on a food delivery app, but it certainly makes Tapingo unique!
