Warning: before reading the following please make sure to take a seat. Mark your calendars this January for the release of the new Girl Scout Cookie cereals! General Mills has come together with the Girl Scout Cookie brand to create a new cereal line expected to hit shelves January 2017. General Mills is developing a cereal inspired by two of the most popular Girl Scout Cookie flavors: Thin Mints and Caramel deLites (otherwise known as Samoas). Thin Mint and Caramel Crunch lovers will be happy to hear that the tempting chocolate-mint and caramel-coconut flavor combinations can now be enjoyed as a breakfast treat.
The brand collaboration is likely to benefit both companies’ revenue. In attempts to combat decreasing cereal sales, General Mills is exceptionally excited for this limited edition launch. Furthermore, Girl Scouts has the opportunity to extend their restricted six to eight week cookie trade to a broader audience. The Girl Scouts company will designate partial sales to contribute to the Girl Scouts of the USA programs nationwide. This is an exciting time for the cereal industry and for the average cereal connoisseur. Get ready to say yes to eating dessert for breakfast!
