Your Thanksgiving Side Dish Horoscope

by Margaret McCann

Sometimes, there are just too many side dishes to choose from on Thanksgiving. Fortunately, we’re here to tell you exactly which side you are according to your zodiac sign, which might make deciding how to fill your plate a little bit easier this year.

Aries – Sweet Potato Casserole

When we think Aries, we think bold. What’s more bold than a sweet potato casserole? Seriously, whoever thought to put marshmallows on top of vegetables was kind of crazy, but also so smart – just like Aries.

Taurus – Stuffing

Stuffing is a Thanksgiving classic that’s grounded in tradition. It’s also probably the most stubborn dish; it’s not really Thanksgiving without it and it will never go away. We all know Taurus is extremely stubborn and enjoys familiar comforts, which goes hand in hand with ever-present stuffing.

Gemini – Cranberry Sauce

Witty, curious, and charming, Gemini is so cranberry sauce. It’s that one side that you need on the table, but only the more adventurous family members reach for. It’s definitely an acquired taste, but if you like it, you LOVE it, and can’t put it down.

Cancer – Mac n Cheese

This might be the biggest compliment to Cancer ever, but their compassionate and giving nature wins them the title of mac n cheese. This side is the dish that everyone loves and is constantly brought out for comfort food throughout the year. Cancer’s naturally nurturing disposition makes them (in our opinion) the best side.

Leo – Cornbread

Charismatic Leo is definitely Thanksgiving cornbread. Everyone loves cornbread and it’s an essential part of Thanksgiving dinner. Leo makes everyone around them better, just like how cornbread is the perfect compliment to Thanksgiving turkey.

Virgo – Biscuits

Logical, practical, and systematic, Virgo is that dish that ties everything together: a biscuit. This may seem like a diss, but we promise you it’s not! Virgo is always diligent and consistent – just like how a good biscuit never fails you.

Libra – Baked Potato

When we think of Libra, we think artistic. Baked potatoes can be served in so many ways, and it all depends on what toppings you choose. Perfect for Libra, because we all know how lovingly indecisive they are (and we mean that in the best way)!

Scorpio – Creamed Spinach

Scorpio is the most underrated and misunderstood zodiac, which is why they are totally creamed spinach. Often villainized, Scorpio is really just mysterious and magnetic, always leaving you better off. Creamed spinach is eerily similar. Initially, you’re unsure of it, but after a while, you learn to love it.

Sagittarius – Pumpkin Pie

Okay, we know this isn’t a side, but that’s exactly how Sagittarius fits into this list. Completely unfiltered and free-spirited, Sagittarius would be the one that stands out but totally owns it. Plus, who doesn’t love pumpkin pie? (don’t answer that)

Capricorn – Mashed Potatoes

Capricorn is down-to-earth and traditional, and there’s nothing more classic than mashed potatoes with gravy on Thanksgiving. We can totally associate Capricorn with good old comfort food because they’re always there for you when you need them.

Aquarius – Brussels Sprouts with Bacon

Brussels sprouts: you either love them or hate them, but they just make sense on Thanksgiving. This is definitely Aquarius. Their individualistic and inherently cool nature makes them polarizing, but you still need them there to pull the group together and spice things up.

Pisces – Corn Casserole

When we think of corn casserole, we think of delicious, buttery goodness. This goes hand-in-hand with Pisces’ dreamy, fantasizing nature. Corn casserole is kind of like the all-encompassing Thanksgiving dish that ties the plate together, which is why Pisces, as they absorb every lesson from the other signs, is hands-down this dish.
