Guy Fieri brought Syracuse to the big screen, yet again! Last night on the Food Network, Syracuse’s own Funk n’ Waffles was featured on a Thanksgiving special of Fieri’s “Guilty Pleasures,” that aired at 10 pm.
This is Funk n’ Waffles’ second appearance on the Food Network, the first being their 2012 appearance on “Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.” Since then, the popular restaurant has opened a second location in Armory Square at 313 S. Clinton St, which is where last night’s show took place.
Guy Fieri accompanied his crew the first time around, but was unable to make it to the second filming at the Armory Square location a few months a go, but his love for Funk n’ Waffles lives on through “Guilty Pleasures.”

“Guilty Pleasures” gathers Food Network stars as they recall their most outrageously decadent and delicious meals. Fieri’s pick tonight? Funk n’ Waffles’s ode to Thanksgiving – the “The Jive Turkey.” This masterpiece features a stuffing based waffle with mashed potatoes, turkey, gravy, and a side of cranberry sauce. Lucky for us, we can satisfy our craving after watching last night’s show any day of the week, unlike viewers around the country who will be left with mouths watering, wondering how the hell they can get themselves to ‘Cuse.
So grab the remote, snuggle up on the couch, watch “Guilty Pleasures” roam the familiar streets of ’Cuse, and be proud that you can call this place home.
