On Thanksgiving eve, the first volume of the final season of the beloved series Stranger Things was released. You may have been one of thousands who enjoyed some Thanksgiving food during their watch, so with two more volumes on the way, we want to give you fun, nostalgic ideas for what to munch on during your next watch.
Going all the way back to Season 1, released in 2016, we’ll start with the iconic Eggo Waffles. A nostalgic treat for all, these are beyond easy to make, which gives you extra time to put together a selection of fun toppings. If you’re looking for a healthy option, fruit like strawberries are perfect for some sweetness. Yogurt is another healthy option. But who are we kidding? It’s a party! If you want to go all out, spreads like Nutella, chocolate syrup, and caramel syrup add sticky delight. You can also go crazy with chocolate chips, M&Ms, whipped cream, and ice cream. Or, you can always stick with tradition and have maple syrup and butter.
Jumping to Season 3, Scoops Ahoy! became a staple of the series. Although the ice cream shop and its notable flavors like the USS Butterscotch don’t exist outside of Hawkins, you can easily recreate your own Scoops Ahoy! experience with sundaes, milkshakes, or your favorite tub of Ben and Jerry’s.
One of the biggest and most creative food trends online right now is the Demogorgon strawberry. Yup! Looks frightening, but is just another sweet treat, and can even be an Eggo topping. The recipe involves dipping halved strawberries in melted chocolate, sticking them together with a chocolate center to replicate the Demogorgon’s mouth, adding white chocolate “teeth” details, and refrigerating to solidify.
If you’re more of a “dinner and a show” person instead of a snacker, we got you! The last few seasons have had characters make plans to go to Enzo’s, a fancy local Italian restaurant. For the fancy vibes in the comfort of your own home, order in from your favorite local Italian spot.
You’ll get to enjoy a saucy meal, unlike characters who are too busy saving the world. If you’re a fan rooting for Karen to get better after her Demogorgon attack, honor her with a glass of wine.
