10 seasonal treats we love about fall

By Sarah Russo

It’s officially fall! Which  means pumpkin spice everything. Whether you prefer to buy your fall-inspired treats in-store or whip them up at home, this list is sure to satisfy your seasonal cravings:

1. Pumpkin Spice Goldfish

Now, you might be thinking— “ew, gross.” But just hear us out. These aren’t your traditional goldfish made with cheese. Instead, these are graham cracker goldfish with pumpkin spice dust. They’re the perfect sweet snack and make a great addition to a trail mix.

2. Pumpkin Oreos

We’ll be the first to admit: golden Oreos are superior to chocolate. The flavors are always better, and the sweet cream filling perfectly compliments the crispy vanilla cookie. The only thing that makes them better is pumpkin spice, of course! They’re limited edition, so grab them quick and stock up!

3. Ben & Jerry’s Pumpkin Cheesecake Ice Cream

Another delicious seasonal favorite is Ben and Jerry’s Pumpkin Cheesecake Ice Cream. It’s made with real pumpkin and has a graham cracker swirl. It’s the perfect fall dessert, but don’t just take our word for it. Ben & Jerry’s Ice cream developer Eric Fredette says, “The Pumpkin Cheesecake flavor is a perfect comfort food. It’s like a warm blanket on a cool autumn day, with falling leaves and the crisp smell of fall.”

4. Pumpkin Spice Cheerios

What’s a better way to start your morning than with a big bowl of Cheerios? And the pumpkin spice version is even better. We wish this flavor would stay on the shelves longer, but we guess we’ll just have to stock up while we can.

5. PSL Starbucks

It wouldn’t be a list of fall foods without including the Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks. It may be overhyped and overpriced, but nevertheless it’s a classic for ringing in the fall season.

Now we love a good store-bought dessert, but we here at Baked need a good recipe too! There’s something special about baking in the fall season. Here are a few quick and easy fall-inspired treats that are sure to get you into the pumpkin spice spirit:

6. Pumpkin Pie Spice

First things first: we need a spice blend. Did you know pumpkin spice is just a combination of  cinnamon, ginger, allspice, nutmeg, and cloves? Well, now you know!

7. Pumpkin Pie Rice Krispie Treats

Now that you have a pumpkin pie spice blend, here’s a great recipe to try out! Rice Krispies are a classic sweet treat and they’re fairly easy to make (but be careful because the marshmallow mixture quickly turns to cement if you don’t work quick enough). And if you’re feeling extra fancy, you can shape the mixture into a pumpkin or a slice of pie!

8. Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls

Now this one is perfect for those of you who are beginner bakers or just want to whip something up quickly. Pillsbury cinnamon rolls have a pumpkin spice roll for fall. It’s as easy as open, roll, bake, and frost!

9. Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Cookies

Everyone has a go-to chocolate chip recipe, but sometimes the same old, same old gets boring. And there’s no better time to spice things up than with the start of fall. These chocolate chip pumpkin pie cookies are easy and oh so delicious.

10. Pumpkin Crumble

Warm desserts are the best desserts. There’s nothing like the first bite when it’s still steaming from the oven. This warm pumpkin crumble served with cold vanilla ice cream is perfection in a bowl. And this recipe is done in less than an hour.
