What to Order at Starbucks This Fall

by Margaret McCann

After a long trek to the Starbucks on Marshall Street, looking at the extensive menu for fall themed coffees can be overwhelming. For those chilly early mornings when you want some fall vibes with your caffeine fix, try out these delicious Starbucks items:

Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew

While this one may be a no-brainer, we stand by it. A cult classic, the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew has all the yummy fall vibes paired with all the caffeine you need to get you through that 8 a.m. class. Cold brew mixed with vanilla and topped with pumpkin cold foam and pumpkin spice topping gives the perfect balance of sweet and bitter.

Dirty Chais

This drink might not be technically fall themed, but chai drinks of any kind remind us of fall. Hot or iced, chai lattes from Starbucks are so underrated and yet so good. Paired with a shot or two of espresso to give you that energy boost you need, dirty chais are our favorite fall afternoon pick-me-up.

Pumpkin Spice Latte/Pumpkin Latte

We know, this one really is painfully basic, but you just can’t go wrong with the classic Pumpkin Spice Latte. Tried and true, we all know and love the PSL. If you don’t like super sweet coffee, go for a regular latte with a few pumps of pumpkin sauce — it gives you all the fall vibes with a fraction of the sugar.

Iced Shaken Espresso with Pumpkin

Remember when everyone was freaking out about the Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso a few months ago? This favorite is essentially the same thing but fall edition. A few shots of espresso over ice mixed with classic syrup, your choice of milk, and pumpkin sauce, this drink is basically just a “healthier” version of a pumpkin latte — and just as good.

Apple Crisp Macchiato

This one might sound weird, but it actually tastes surprisingly good. Layers of brown sugar, apple, caramel, and coffee make a great combination, even though one might not usually associate coffee with fruity flavors. The classic caramel macchiato meets its match this fall, and, as an avid supporter of the former, we can attest that the apple crisp version is just as yummy.

Pumpkin Loaf and Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin

Fall is simply not complete without pumpkin bread. For when you can’t make it at home (dorm kitchens are just not sufficient, let’s face it), the Starbucks pumpkin loaf is the holy grail. And hear us out on the cream cheese muffin. It’s basically cream cheese frosting on top of a pumpkin muffin — can it get any better?
