We discovered this hotspot while exploring the greater Syracuse area. While walking around the picturesque Skaneateles area, we noticed an adorable shop with a line out the door. Crowds of people were lining up for apple cider donuts on that gloomy fall Saturday morning at Skaneateles Bakery. As any foodie does, we joined the line. From a creamsicle refresher to pumpkin whoopie pie, Skaneateles Bakery has every fall themed treat you could need.
Stop in for lunch and get a buffalo chicken melt or grilled gruyere cheese. You can’t go wrong with this unique salty and sweet combination. The oozing salty and rich gruyere cheese, just the right amount of sweet caramelized onions, and thin apple slices all on toasted Italian bread. We recommend getting an online order to pick up and enjoy by the scenic Skaneateles Lake, the first of the New York Finger Lakes.
The bakery, founded in 2011 by two local entrepreneurs, Katie Brennen and Chris Grilli, prides itself on exceptional customer service. They have created a welcoming atmosphere for each and every customer to feel at home in their bakery. They also support local businesses by only using the highest quality, locally sourced ingredients. Make sure to stop by for a taste of fall!
